This might be just a simple adaptor, but you really need a good one if you want to keep the signal quality when extending a not long enough HDMI cable. I have to say that I have tried several, some more expensive, others at 1 or 2 dollars just to have a couple of benchmarks for this one. The truth is that the Syba adapter is really good quality considering the low 5 dollar price.

You can actually tell from the way it looks that it is a high quality product and besides being very cheap, it also has a free shipping policy. I have used this item for an extended HDMI cable. First it tried a single adapter to double the length of my HDMI cable from my PS3 to my TV. The signal loss was insignificant and probably due to the fact that the PS3 doesn’t have a high enough power output. The video was still crisp and you could enjoy the content to the best. Further, I tried giving it another 6 feet, using a second Syba adapter. Again, the image was good and the length was triple that of the initial cable.

It is also important to point out that the adapter has a very strong grasp on the cable and will not easily come out, so you can use it in any situation and even if you have to take the signal up and over some obstacles. I really am amazed because the quality, in general, is at least equal that of a lot more expensive items. I recommend this adapter to anyone and you can purchase several, so you can extend the cable as much as you like. Although, at some point, you will need an amplifier because the source can only provide with a limited amount of signal power.
